Learning Management System

LMS is an application for the employees at the dealership to take their mandatory annual and quarterly trainings.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Responsive redesign of the LMS application on a java platform from the current Raytheon system. Strong emphasis on evolving the application into the enhanced user experience consistent with the Global Connect application available to the users. Additionally, a new, more intuitive user interface was wrapped around the application, ensuring users were easily able to take full advantage of all new features provided.

CHALLENGES

In order to create a better user experience, i had to educate myself on all the different roles that are in a dealership and all the task each employee does everyday.

MY ROLE

I lead the visual design, research, user tests to get a sign off on the design and worked closely with the development team, product owners and BAs to achieve requirements and make sure the redesign is within the existing site architecture to minimize development efforts.

PROCESS

Research

  • Meet with employees at dealerships and get feedback of the portal and what improvements they would like to see in the new design

  • Work with developers and product owners on what the possibilities and restrictions are on the current environment

Concept

  • Create process flows, wireframes and review the layout with the Users, Product Owners and Development team

Prototyping

  • Create a hi-fidelity clickable prototype to conduct user tests and for the development team to understand the flow

Testing

  • Conduct user tests at the dealership to get quick validation before going in production.

CONCLUSIONS

The new design was a drastic change for the end user, the advantage was it simple which helped the users follow along, after going live the call center calls significantly reduced.
